Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant works under the direction of the Controller, helping maintain general ledger accounts and other activities to produce financial statements for multiple companies housed at our Columbus Corporate Location. The position will be responsible for daily accounting tasks and month-end close to include account reconciliations and preparing journal entries. This team member will also assist with the year-end close process, as well as annual/semiannual audits. On top of the daily, monthly and yearly accounting functions, this individual will be looked at for oversight on completion of all task lists, and assisting the accounting team members with issues that may arise PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Assisting the Controller in carrying out any and all functions of the Accounting department Prepare general journal entries to numerous registers and logs Perform monthly bank reconciliations Maintain detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, monthly Other ad hoc duties as needed. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required At least 2 - 5 years of accounting experience in a related role Self-starting and self-motivated Thorough knowledge of GAAP Highly detail-oriented and analytical Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, as well as strong skills in other Microsoft Office applications Experience with accounting software - QuickBooks experience is a plus Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation Strong communication and organizational skills Must be flexible and capable of reprioritizing duties as time-sensitive tasks arise.
