The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and contributing to the overall financial health of NW Capital Management. They will perform a wide range of accounting tasks, from verifying transactions and reconciling accounts to preparing financial statements and providing financial analysis.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly financial reports, such as balance sheet, income and expense reports
Maintains prepaid schedules for all subsidiaries
Assists in month-end and year-end closings
Assists in preparation for the year-end audit and any interim audit
Prepare & gather data for annual budget process
Performs balancing, reconciliation, research, and problem solving on a variety of general ledger accounts
Calculation of Financial Advisors commissions
Maintenance of Commission System
Records Monthly Insurance revenue accruals
Records bi-monthly payroll
Provides Ad Hoc reporting to CFO as needed
Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience preparing monthly financial statements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize activities to meet deadlines
- Ability to multitask
- Accuracy and detail oriented
- Must be able to work onsite in Herndon, VA headquarters
- Ability to work the hours of M-F 8am - 4:30pm
Preferred
- CPA License
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Vertafore AMS360 and Sage 50 Accounting Software
