About the Opportunity

A leading U.S. manufacturing company is seeking a Divisional Controller to lead financial operations for a division. This high-impact role is based in the near Schaumburg, IL market and reports directly to the division president.

This is not a traditional controller position—it’s a strategic leadership opportunity for a finance executive who can partner closely with the business, drive performance, and lead operational transformation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting and finance operations across multiple sites
  • Act as a strategic advisor and business partner to divisional leadership
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management
  • Drive automation and process improvement across financial workflows
  • Guide ERP integration and system consolidation efforts (SAGE platform)
  • Conduct financial reporting, job cost analysis, and WIP reconciliations
  • Represent the division in monthly financial reviews and executive presentations
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate financial policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance in a manufacturing sector w/ public company; 3+ in a leadership role
  • Experience managing multi-site or multi-entity operations
  • Strong FP&A capabilities and business acumen
  • ERP experience required (SAGE strongly preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence
  • Proven ability to improve financial processes, close monthly reports on time, and drive cost efficiencies

Preferred Experience

  • Background in industrial services, manufacturing, or capital equipment sectors
  • Experience leading ERP migrations or multi-entity consolidations
  • Familiarity with automation of transaction processes (e.g., invoicing, reporting)
  • Hands-on WIP accounting and reconciliation expertise
