Job Description

Prominent global company is looking for a Lead Project Analyst to manage the financial health of large, complex projects. Ideal candidates will have experience working in multinational settings, handling complex project portfolios, and applying percentage of completion (PoC) accounting. Exceptional analytical skills and clear, confident communication—both written and verbal—are key to success in this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Cultivate strong partnerships with leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with managers to convert project timelines, resource allocation, and execution plans into reliable financial forecasts and annual budgets.

  • Monitor and assess performance metrics, including revenue, cost of sales, gross margins, and overheads.

  • Organize and lead project review meetings following global financial oversight standards, ensuring timely updates and transparency in results.

  • Partner closely with Project Managers to:

    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date project budgets, factoring in change orders and scope adjustments.

    • Validate financial reporting for accuracy—tracking margins, invoicing schedules, receivables, and cost variances.

    • Monitor and analyze project cash flows, flagging significant deviations from the plan.

    • Report on quarterly forecasts for revenue and cash flow, while identifying risks and mitigation strategies.

    • Highlight financial risks and areas of concern to business and finance leadership for proactive resolution.

  • Coordinate with internal entities to manage intercompany transactions and ensure accurate documentation.

  • Assist in monthly close activities, financial summaries, and rolling estimates.

  • Support vendor payments, customer billing, and collections.

  • Partner with Accounting to ensure timely and accurate monthly closings and ledger integrity.

  • Leverage automation tools and software to streamline financial tasks and eliminate inefficiencies.

  • Deliver insights to drive data-informed decisions and improve project outcomes.

  • Continually enhance your knowledge of the industry, company, and financial best practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or audit, including at least 2 years in FP&A or similar roles requiring deep analytical work and actionable reporting.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance, with a solid understanding of GAAP and financial analysis fundamentals. IFRS experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to influence stakeholders across levels.

  • Adaptable and proactive in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.

  • Strong grasp of ERP and financial systems—Microsoft Dynamics or SAP preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

  • Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Cognos, Tableau, BW (CBI), or Power BI is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with database creation and analysis (e.g., Microsoft Access) is a plus.

  • Solid data validation, querying, and interpretation skills.

  • Experience with PoC accounting is strongly preferred.

  • Background in manufacturing and product costing is beneficial.

  • CPA or other financial certification is a bonus.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Skilled in technical and business writing, with the ability to develop training or reference materials.

  • Clear, professional verbal communicator with a confident, executive presence.

  • Quick thinker who thrives in discussions with senior-level stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated and eager to grow within the organization.

  • Working knowledge of financial cycles from hands-on experience is a plus.

  • Additional responsibilities as required.
