The Payroll Specialist will perform all essential functions required to process weekly payrolls in an accurate and timely manner. They also provide support to our corporate accounting and operations staff, as well as managers at our properties located throughout the United States.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performing all essential functions required to process weekly payrolls in an accurate and timely manner.
- Processing involuntary deductions such as federal and state tax levies, child support, and creditor garnishments as regulated by federal and state laws.
- Processing payroll and transmitting reporting data to operations and accounting teams.
- Creating and updating Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) documents.
- Data entry, filing, copying, scanning, and other administrative duties.
- Building relationships with co-workers and team members in order to provide a high level of customer service and continually improve team member satisfaction.
- Ensuring that standards and procedures are followed.
- Providing support to the management team by accomplishing related duties as needed.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or recognized equivalent.
- Experience in full cycle and/or in-house payroll processing.
- At least 2 years experience in processing payrolls for multiple states.
- Union payroll experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Provide excellent customer service to all team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel are required) as well as basic computer skills.
- CPP or FPC designation is preferred.
