The Salvation Army's Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Division is located in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The division is home to 26 Worship and Community Centers (Corps), 67 service extension units, a camp, as well as multiple homeless shelters, thrift stores and food pantries. Service extension units are branches of The Salvation Army in communities where Corps are not located but service is provided by committees of volunteers. The Regional Accounting Supervisor Assist the Divisional Controller in developing, implementing and monitoring all Regional Corps accounting and financial functions. Provide first level management to the Regional Accounting staff at Divisional Headquarters.
About the role:
- Maintains systems and procedures for agency financial and administrative operations.
- Prepares, analyzes and submits required financial reports, statements and statistics for internal and external use.
- Coordinates, prepares and presents operating budgets. Estimates, analyzes and updates financial projections and cash flows.
- Documents and reports all income and expenditures related to agency programs. Maintains ledgers, journals and files for reporting as required. Coordinates with Program Accountability Director for all regional units to ensure proper accounting of contracts according to GAAP.
- Bookkeeping duties as needed for Regional units including Positive Pay reporting for banking
- Maintains contact with individuals in outside groups (e.g. auditors and banks)
- Instructs, supervises, monitors and evaluates the work performance of the Regional Accounting staff. Provides coverage for vacations and other absences, and provides cross training of staff.
- Creates and maintains a Regional Accounting manual and an Acumatica Inquiry User manual for the Department.
- Reporting and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Management oversight in the Acumatica accounting system.
Education: Bachelors degree in accounting
Experience: 3 years of experience in accounting; supervisory experience preferred.
