Director of Accounting and Operations
Bishop Dunne Catholic School, located in Oak Cliff, is searching for an experienced professional with financial experience and training, preferably with a school or nonprofit. The Director of Accounting and Operations is a member of the Leadership Team and serves as the advisor on business and financial matters to the president. The Director of Accounting and Operations is responsible for the development and recommendation of business and financial services to the board; for safeguarding the school’s assets through the establishment and administration of budgetary and other internal controls; and for the performance of analytical analysis on specific operational issues and revisions to the administrative and business systems of the school. The Director of Accounting and Operations also acts in a fiduciary capacity as treasurer for operating cash flow, the school’s endowment fund and serves as liaison to the Board of Directors and its committees on business-related operations. Additionally, the Director of Accounting and Operations is responsible for the overall supervision of business office employees and oversees the human resources, maintenance, facilities, food service, transportation, and technology departments. The Director of Accounting and Operations reports directly to the president and is responsive to inquiries from other members of the administration.

I. Primary Functions:
· Establishes accounting policies and procedures.
· Develops and implements budgetary and other financial controls.
· Provides the president and the board with cost projections and financial forecasts, budget preparation in collaboration with the Finance Committee.
· Advises on long-range planning of capital expenditures.
· Coordinates the preparation and presentation of financial statements and reports for the president, board, and board committees.
· Serves on various committees of the School Board including the Finance Committee, Risk Management Committee, Facilities Committee and Strategic Planning Committee.
· Works with the Finance Committee in considering the overall endowment policy guidelines for the school.
· Reviews and manages all contracts and coordinates the contracts’ process with the Diocese of Dallas.
· Serves as the liaison for the HR and Risk Management offices of the Diocese and coordinates with attorneys on contract issues.
· Manages tuition billing and receivables.
· Reviews and approves semi-monthly payroll.
· Supervises the annual audit.
· Assists with administration of financial aid.
· Manages and monitors business operations including maintenance,
facilities, transportation, technology, food service, and human resources, including the management of any contracted service providers.
· Provides budget-building assistance and monthly budget updates to budget managers.
· Provides monitoring of compliance issues in risk management, human resources, and financial arenas.
· Performs other duties as assigned by the president.
II. Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business required
· 5 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or management-related capacity
· 5+ years of managerial experience with progressive experience in operational/administrative management
· 3+ years of QuickBooks experience
· Hands-on management style - able to effectively lead multiple departments
· Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
· Detail-oriented
· Strategic thinker
