About the RoleThe Billing and Audit Benefits Specialist is responsible for the Vendor billing and reconciliation processes as well as auditing all health and welfare benefits. This role will be an integral part of the Benefit and Leaves Team highly focused on data-driven projects and audits. The Benefits Specialist will lead the enrollment reconciliation of all plans through file maintenance and ongoing audits.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices for all benefit programs perform detailed reconciliation of invoices against benefit enrollment data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Reviews and audits associate data in benefit plan systems and vendor files to ensure data integrity and works with vendors to correct data errors and omissions
- Participates in the benefits payroll process takes key role in running payroll reviews during the pre-check process and after payroll.
- Review and approve payroll funding reconciliations and ACH/wire transmittals for weekly payroll deductions for programs related to 401(k) and Flexible Spending Accounts.
- Responsible for weekly vendor file management and issue resolution
- Ongoing data analysis using Excel and other data analytic tools for ongoing auditing (payroll 401k HSA variances etc.)
- Assist with annual compliance processes such as ACA coding annual open enrollment planning and 401k plan audit
- Prepare data and reports for testing and compliance audits
Skills/Abilities:
- Detail Focused - attention to specifics when it comes to people data enrollments and costs
- Highly organized responsive and self-motivated
- Flexible and able to juggle the needs of changing priorities of the business
- Technology Savvy- Advanced level knowledge of Excel along with prior experience utilizing multiple reporting functions from vendor platforms
- Understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree required
- 4+ years of relevant HR experience required, prior people data and billing reconciliation experience required
- 2 years of experience working within the Benefits
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
