Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a key finance business partner to both lab operations leadership and commercial teams across our multi-site laboratory testing network. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role will provide critical financial insights, reporting, and decision support to drive operational efficiency, margin expansion, and strategic growth.

This is an individual contributor role suited for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and is comfortable operating across functional boundaries.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Finance

• Partner with laboratory operations leaders to deliver financial insights that drive efficiency and cost control across multiple lab sites.
• Analyze operational KPIs including turnaround times, productivity, utilization, and cost per test/sample; identify trends, variances, and performance improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain financial reporting for lab operations, including monthly P&L performance, variance analysis, and regional dashboards.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes for operational units, including labor planning, consumables, and equipment spend.
• Assist in evaluating new site ramp-ups, relocations, and capital investment business cases.
• Collaborate with procurement to evaluate supplier costs, inventory utilization, and potential cost savings opportunities.

Commercial Finance

• Partner with commercial leadership to provide financial support for sales growth initiatives, customer pricing, and margin optimization.
• Perform customer-level profitability and pricing analyses to inform contract renewals, RFPs, and strategic pricing decisions.
• Support go-to-market planning, including new service launches and commercial ROI modeling.
• Provide revenue forecasting, sales pipeline analysis, and business case development for strategic commercial projects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Prepare and present monthly reporting packages and executive-level insights, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
• Serve as liaison between operations, commercial, and corporate finance teams to ensure alignment and data consistency across planning cycles.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 5–8 years of progressive experience in FP&A, operational finance, or commercial finance, ideally in a multi-site services or lab-based business.
• Strong financial modeling, Excel, and data visualization skills (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
• ERP experience (e.g., NetSuite, MS Dynamics GP, SAP) and comfort working with large datasets.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple levels.
• Highly organized, intellectually curious, and detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Role will be based in Melville, NY or can be remote from any location.
