Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant, Project, Fixed Assets, and Lease Accounting, manages the monthly processes around Oracle Projects, Fixed Assets, and Leases, including project creation and reporting, the maintenance of fixed asset rollforwards, financing and operating lease determinations, and the preparation of monthly journal entries to support these activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Support the Project, Fixed Assets, and Lease accounting process through project initiation, accounting, analysis, and reporting needs of all lines of business that receive liaison services. Responsible for the month-end close procedures around the project, fixed asset, and lease accounting processes for all sites, divisions, and lines of business Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the projects, fixed assets, and lease accounting processes leveraging best practices, to increase efficiency, promote standardization, and reduce cost Responsible for the maintenance of fixed asset rollforwards, fixed asset additions and disposals, capital budgeting and projections, project budget reporting, and other reporting requests as needed Manage the accounting processes around financing and operating leases, perform financing and operating lease determinations, maintain capitalization and amortization schedules, and perform monthly and quarterly lease balance reconciliations Collaborate with facility finance team and Site Liaison to review new leases, add leases to lease management software, and perform lease classification testing Support facility leadership and Site Liaison team with the initiation of projects, assisting with capital versus operating project determinations Maintain internal controls to ensure balance sheet accounts are properly supported with period rollforwards and other supporting documentation, and that project and CIP transfers are properly documented Perform general ledger, subledger, and journal entry analysis as needed, including ability to use reporting tools such as OTBI to query transactions to perform necessary research and analysis Responsible for organizing and performing P&L and balance sheet analysis around projects, fixed assets, and leases with supporting commentary Support division and operations leadership with annual project budgeting, forecasting, and other analyses as requested Interface with the LBS Site Liaison, Financial Operations, and Technical Accounting teams to support projects, fixed assets, and lease analysis and inquiries Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Education: Bachelors Degree required, preferably in the areas of Accounting or Finance Experience: 4+ years of Experience in projects/fixed assets accounting Must possess a working understanding of operational reporting tools and sources within Oracle, including OTBI, FDI, and EPM.
