Role The primary role of this position is to make a difference in our neighbors financial lives. This is accomplished by providing a variety of accounting duties including posting of transactions to general ledger, preparation of monthly reports on personal computer, and various monthly reconcilements. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Provide outstanding service to each internal and external member as defined by our Service Standards and Promises. Daily balancing of the Shared Branch transactions. Balance and reconcile all entries related to the charged-off share accounts. Reconciliation of various accounts. Ensure that all assigned GL accounts are current and that all pending items are within the allowable time frames, and ensure that all assigned GL accounts are closed and posted within 5 business days after month-end. Serves as backup for the Fed-line Accounting Specialist and assists with the daily Fed-line functions. Daily balancing of the Credit Card transactions. Assist with the month-end closing process. Reconcile and post monthly investment entries. Daily reconciliation of all ACH-related general ledger accounts. Daily balancing of share draft suspense. Performs other duties as needed. Maintain knowledge with training. BSA Compliance - every employee is required to uphold the credit union's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Specific functions with BSCU will take into consideration the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity that is relevant to the department. In addition to any other assigned training courses, online BSA and OFAC courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and/or Compliance Department. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending and Credit Card Act. Maintain knowledge with B.S.A. Compliance training. Other job-related duties as assigned. Performance Measurements: Provide outstanding service to internal and external members as defined by our service standards and promises. To ensure all functions are completed within the allotted time frames. To complete the standard education hours prescribed in the Credit Union University program Minimum Expectations of Knowledge and Skills: Experience - Six months to two years of similar or related experience. Education - (1) A two-year college degree, (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. Interpersonal Skills- Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information that may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information. Other Skills- Basic college accounting coursework. Proficiency at 10 key calculator operation. Proficiency in data entry using a computer keyboard. Proficiency in Excel or an equivalent spreadsheet program. Clear concise communication skills.
