Job Description
The Payroll Tax Senior Analyst for US and Canada will provide comprehensive payroll tax guidance and support to a high-volume, complex payroll department including but not limited to:
solving employee tax inquiries
performing employee reconciliations, adjustments, and completing W2c/T4 amendments as required
reviewing/maintaining tax profiles at both company and employee levels as well as special handling for deceased employees
monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns/amendments
funding for tax inquiries and returns
equity reviews
execute special handling of global mobility payroll transactions
maintain visa profiles
compiling audit support documents
maintain strong working relationships with payroll sub-teams in support of overall team goals
document new processes as needed
Support ongoing compliance updates from federal, state, local and provincial agencies by working closely with internal/external teams to successfully perform testing reviews on periodic tax upgrades
Support acquisition tax activities
Execute and review quarter end/year end activities for US (including Puerto Rico) and Canada to ensure highest quality of accuracy for tax reporting (W2/T4/Rev1)
Assist with reconciliation of payroll taxes activity to general ledger
Ensure compliance with all internal controls and recommend updates or improvements as business needs change
Participate in team/company training as well as maintaining payroll certifications
Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll tax operations
Preferred Qualifications:
Payroll certifications such as CPP for the US or PCP for Canada
Working knowledge of Dayforce payroll and tax
Professional Skills Requirements:
Understanding of payroll processing platforms
Must be excellent communicator (verbal and written)
Must have strong analytical skills to solve complex issues
Strong sense of customer service
Strong technology skills - ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
Critical thinker and problem-solver; ability to work creatively and analytically in a fast-paced business environment
Experience in complex, high volume, large client environments executing full end-to-end payroll process
Proficiency with MS Office Suite - Excel, WordStrong math skills
Well-organized, able to prioritize work, and works well under pressure
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York or Washington as set forth below.
