Job Description

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing for our multiple companies, located across multiple states and local jurisdictions. This includes calculating wages, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining accurate payroll records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly payroll for all drivers.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Maintain and update payroll records and employee information.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software, ADP Vantage and McLeod Software a preferred, and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience in the trucking or transportation industry is a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of payroll tax jurisdictions and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multi-state payroll and ensure compliance with varying tax laws.
  • Experience with payroll tax filings and resolving tax-related issues.
  • Solid accounting knowledge and background, including familiarity with general ledger and financial reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
