Cenovus is seeking a Tax Analyst to join our team in Dublin, Ohio. This role includes preparing U.S. federal and state corporate income tax and partnership returns, as well as informational filings such as forms 1099 and 1042. You'll also support tax provisions for U.S. subsidiaries, monthly forecasts, long-range planning, and assist with various tax planning initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong U.S. tax compliance and accounting experience, with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.
What youll do:- Prepare and file U.S. federal and state corporate and partnership income tax returns, including elections and other required tax filings.
- Compile and submit informational forms such as 1099s and 1042s, and coordinate quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Complete annual and quarterly U.S. tax provision calculations, including income tax true-ups, and support SOX narrative updates as needed.
- Develop and analyze consolidated tax budgets, quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range planning models.
- Research, analyze, and document U.S. federal and state tax issues, and assist with audit-related queries and responses.
- Support tax planning initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders across finance and business units on special projects.
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- Minimum three years of corporate income tax work experience.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Experience with OneSource Income Tax and Tax Provision software, Bloomberg Tax, and other U.S. tax research tools is a plus.
