Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role offers an opportunity to work with advanced financial software and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Must have residential/commercial construction experience
- Responsible for the processing, reviewing, tracking, and general ledger posting of construction draws for multiple projects and preparing AIAs.
- Process accounts payable from on-boarding vendors, reviewing invoices, securing Project Managers approval, securing / maintaining subcontractor insurance policies and securing lien waivers for payment.
- Process accounts receivable and understand the construction billing and collections process, management, and reporting.
- Maintain payment draw files and invoice files.
- Perform/review bank account reconciliations.
- Reconciliation of Vendor statements and Customer payments.
- Prepare deposits and weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Report directly to Controller
- Back up responsibilities in other divisions of the company
- Growth potential within the Company
- Utilize QuickBooks/Excel and other financial software for efficient data management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and improve financial processes.
- Stay updated on financial concepts, accrual accounting principles, and industry trends.
Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Management or closely related field.
- Personal effectiveness and credibility, analytical, good communication skills, proficiency and flexibility. Ability to interact well with others in order to accomplish objectives in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to communicate effectively (oral/written) pertinent information to all levels of management and field operations
- Duties require good independent judgment, initiative and ability to deal with general accounting issues related to a specific department or aspect of the accounting process.
