Position Overview: 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor or Manager (dependent on experience) to join our Tax & Accounting Services team. This position will report to Mark Alaimo, Managing Stakeholder. As a Supervisor or Manager, you will manage a portfolio of clients, including closely held businesses and individuals, focusing on recurring bookkeeping, tax planning, tax preparation, and review. You will also mentor associates, ensure client satisfaction, and contribute to the firm's growth and development.  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Plan, supervise, and manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing bookkeeping, tax planning, and tax preparation. 

• Complete client work in a technically sound, consistent and reliable way.  

• Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, demonstrated enthusiasm for their needs, meeting deadlines, and proactively sharing strategies. 

• Manage and oversee the monthly close process for assigned business clients, preparing monthly financial statements for management use. 

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. 

• Address and resolve tax notices and inquiries as needed. 

• Be an active participant in business development through community involvement, targeted networking and a strong understanding of Firm concepts that distinguish us from competitors. 

• Communicate problems and opportunites to the Managing Shareholder and/or Engagement Shareholder as appropriate. 

• Mentor and develop associates in both technical and general areas. 

Qualifications: 

• Active Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license 

• At least four years of recent public accounting experience with a focus on tax preparation, including entity returns, individual, and trust returns. 

• Significant QuickBooks experience (both desktop and online versions). 

• A current and comprehensive understanding of income tax laws and accounting principles. 

• Tremendous discretion, personal integrity, and a positive attitude. 

• Ability to thrive in a team-based, fast-paced environment. 

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written). 

• Ability to commute to our new Lawrence, MA office 

• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required. 

• Experience with Citrix and CCH Axcess/ProFX also a plus.

Salary: $115,000 – $175,000 per year, commensurate with experience. This cash compensation range is inclusive of bonus opportunities and encompasses the Supervisor and Manager level.
