We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant. This position will be located in our New York office.



The Senior Accountant is responsible for a wide-range of financial reporting. The responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:  

  • Processing monthly rent vouchers: prepare timely detailed monthly rent vouchers for over 30 offices; track lease payment changes; verify monthly operating expenses as well as yearly opex and real estate tax reconciliations; liaison between accounting and landlords for all related issues; prepare monthly prepaid rent journal entries.
  • Preparing yearly rent budget.
  • Maintaining and preparing deferred rent schedules for existing, newly acquired and expired leases; preparing all related journal entries and reconcile deferred rent file to G/L.
  • Maintaining and journalizing monthly prepaid operating expenses; reconciling quarterly prepaid file to G/L.
  • Weekly preparation of the cash liquidity report for distribution to the Board of Directors.
  • Preparing monthly bank compliance reports.
  • Serving as the administrator for the company’s purchase card program, interacting with both card users and the credit card company.
  • Annually, preparing, distributing, and filing company 1099’s.
  • Tracking and recording bad debt expense for the company monthly.
  • Working closely with other members of the Financial Services department to prepare and post journal entries in the general ledger to close the month including:

            a) Rent allocations
            b) Adjusting journal entries
            c) Miscellaneous other entries such as AR WIP interest charges, FAS 106 TTB, intangibles accrual, etc.

  • Interacting with Business Unit leaders regarding intercompany time charges and making corrections as needed. Preparing quarterly intercompany report.
  • Assisting in various ad hoc reports and analyses for management.
  • Preparing quarterly board of directors vouchers.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or other quantitative and analytical related academic discipline.
  • 3-9 years relevant experience performing in an accounting and/or financial administration oriented role.  
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles; ability to research, analyze and summarize financial information.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics LS or Microsoft Access is preferred; experience writing SQL queries and procedures is a plus.  
  • Organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated initiative; effective time management skills and ability to juggle and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well in teams and independently.
  • Client service oriented.
  • Excellent communication (oral/written) skills with ability to deal effectively with others, speak professionally on the phone, etc.
