Chief Financial Officer

150K to 165K

Description: The CFO will be responsible for directing the financial efforts of Total Education Solutions and the Institute for the Redesign of Learning.  Such responsibilities will include the financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules for the guidance of management.  The CFO will also develop, implement, and oversee financial planning and policies, accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with the TES and IRL Boards of Directors, government funders, lending institutions, external auditors and the financial community.  Additional responsibilities will include the maintenance of fiscal records, the preparation of financial reports and the primary supervision of general accounting, internal and external auditing and budgetary controls.

Position requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, accounting or related field required.  MBA and/or other professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CIA, CFE) preferred
  • Five to eight years of experience in a service oriented industry
  • Experience working with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health preferred
  • Well-developed financial modeling, budgeting and analysis capabilities
  • Possess good management skills and ability to communicate complex financial issues in simple, understandable terms
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, establish and motivate a team in order to balance stafing strengths with profitability and growth a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting standards applicable to corporations and non-profit organizations
  • Working knowledge of  manual and automated accounting systems such as MAS 90/500 or other ERP systems.  Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel required

This position requires that employees use Independent clinical judgment, well-developed communication skills, and be team and client focused.
