Job Summary

Peterson Company Ltd is currently seeking an experienced Audit Manager with an emphasis in government and non-profits to join our team. This individual will have the opportunity to lead and manage multiple audit engagements and staff by preparing and reviewing financial audits. Our managers train and manage accountants and provide input on important operational decisions. Besides delivering high quality service to our clients, our managers help lead the firm in meeting the Audit Department's goals and initiatives. They will grow in their career by building client relationships, managing client projects and supporting business development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee audit engagements from planning through completion.
• Outlines engagement objectives, issues, findings and recommendations in a variety of client situations.
• Review workpapers and financial statements prior to partner review.
• Supervises and delegates duties to Associate and Senior Associate staff.
• Provides mentoring and technical training for staff in the audit department.
• Ensure compliance with applicable auditing standards and regulations.
• Identify risks and develop strategies to mitigate them during the audit process.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Stay current with changes in governmental accounting standards and not for profits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Proven experience in audit management or a similar role within a CPA firm.
• A minimum of 5 - 7 years of public accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent risk management skills with the ability to identify potential issues proactively.
• Proficiency in ProSystem Engagement and CCH Axcess is a plus.
• Familiarity with GASB and GAAP is highly desirable.
