Leucadia Financial, a financial holdings company located in downtown Salt Lake City is seeking a qualified individual for a Payroll Administrator position.  This is a full time position. This position is primarily responsible for electronically calculating, processing and distributing bi-weekly payroll using an automated payroll system.  Other additional functions include but are not limited to:  compiling statistics, maintaining payroll control reports, reviewing payroll taxes and preparing journal entries.  Perform computations of pay according to company policy and in accordance with government regulations and tax codes. The ideal candidate for this position will have at a minimum an Associate's degree in Accounting, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred. A minimum of four years experience in the payroll field is required.   Experience processing multi-state payroll is a must.   Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of payroll.  Strong analytical and problem solving skills.  Ability to meet deadlines.  Excellent math skills.  Familiarity with state and federal regulations and tax law surrounding payroll required.  Prior experience with an electronic payroll system, preferably with Ceridian is preferred. Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and computer software proficiency.  Must be able to manually calculate pay checks without an electronic automated system.
