Payroll Specialist Payroll Specialist $14.19 17.74/ Hour FULL BENEFITS POSITION SUMMARY: Perform all accounting functions necessary to process the Tulsa Housing Authority payroll. Verify all time sheets, leave applications and overtime authorizations and balance the payroll in preparation for processing. Enter payroll data into the computer including all required and optional deductions using a Personal Computer and or Excel software. Maintain a schedule of deductions by payroll element. Analyze the assigned General Ledger accounts for payroll deductions on a monthly basis and resolve discrepancies. Prepare the quarterly Federal, state and local required tax reports. Prepare check requests for payroll, payroll taxes and required employee benefit payments. Credit Union, group insurance and other like payments. Reconcile withholding forms W2 information and provide to employees at year end. Confirm LOCCS and subsidy transfers with bank. Receive and process all miscellaneous cash receipts. Prepare all bank deposits. Request all LOCCS forms via telephone/internet. Perform other duties as required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma plus an Associate level degree in Accounting. Additionally, the position requires one (1) year payroll experience. Experience in a Government accounting environment will offset the Associate level degree requirement. Credit for directly related experience is calculated at two (2) years experience equaling one (1) year of formal education. Must be able to 10-key by touch.
