Overview of Responsibilities: Manage multi state and multi jurisdiction payroll taxes Provide direct support to employees based in over 35 states with payroll tax issues and inquiries. Reconcile payroll tax reporting Investigate, correct and transmit amended payroll tax returns for corrected payrolls File and pay all Federal, State and Local payroll taxes Investigate and resolve all tax notices, penalties and questionnaire requests Monitor tax filings from tax service provider Monitor changes in payroll tax laws as they affect the organization’s tax liability Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations Work directly with various tax agencies to resolve filling and deposit discrepancies Prepare headcount tax forms Run quarter-end and year end adjustments and processing Support various payroll processes including year-end W2 reporting Knowledgeable with FICA, FUTA and SUTA taxes Knowledgeable with new state and local tax registrations Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience with payroll tax filings and compliance issues General accounting skills Detail-oriented required Proficient MS Excel skills Demonstrated ability to prioritize and solve problems Good understanding of payroll concepts and procedures Excellent verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with ADP tax services is a plus To be successful in this role, you must be willing to work in an environment that promotes accountability.
