Position Title: Sales Supervisor Status: Non-Exempt Hours: Normal Store Hours Location/Dept: Retail Store - Cabot, AR Reports to: Store Manager Pick-n-Pull General Position Summary: Responsible for managing the sales function in order to achieve sales goals. Direct the sales team to ensure Customer Care compliance and a safe work environment. Essential Functions: 1. Leadership and Supervisory ? Build strong customer relationships by exceptional Customer Service with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Direct and manage the Sales/Customer Service Advisors which includes communicating company policies and standards, assisting with difficult customers, and responding to any questions the team may have. Conduct weekly meetings to keep the team updated. 2. Customer Service/Marketing - Maintain the sales area (front of the store) at the store to ensure minimal loss prevention and that company sales procedures are being followed. Ensures that all company marketing programs are current and communicated and implemented to management and the Sales/Customer Service employees in a timely manner. This position will also ensure that we have tools and supplies necessary for the customers to shop safely and comfortably (i.e. wheel barrows and hoists; Thrift store is properly stocked; Core return area is monitored). The Sales Manager will also monitor the Builder Sales area. The sales manager will ensure that the entrance is ready each day for business by ensuring that the employees have the appropriate tools to do their job (i.e. day stamps, exchange policies, and Core item marking paint). The sales manager will ensure that the Sales Area is always clean and safe for the employees and customers. The Sales area includes the customer entrance area, hand wash stations, restrooms in customer area, and the parking lot. 3. Training - Ensures all Sales/Customer Service program training is completed for all employees and is enforced on a regular basis. These programs include the 8 step entrance procedures, 4 step exit procedures, and closer interaction. Coordinate the ongoing training/cross training of the sales staff to ensure that all employees can properly perform their job functions. This training also involves safety training. 4. Performance Management/Team Development ? This position will ensure that all employees are performing to their fullest potential, and that the sales employees are being appraised and provided with the feedback on their performance in a timely manner in order to meet company goals. 5. Staffing ? The Sales manager participates in the interview process and ensures that employees are hired and trained for the department. Schedules staff to meet all peak customer traffic periods which involve weekends, sale days, or any other occasion that would generate high customer flow into the store. 6. Employee Relations ? The sales manager will lead by example and ensure that all employees are treated fairly and consistently within company policies and guidelines. Ensure that all employee questions and complaints are addressed appropriately and promote a positive and fulfilling environment. 7. Financial ? Ensure that all financial transaction have been approved by the appropriate members of management and are within SOX guidelines. Monitor all Sales transactions for accuracy and quality. 8. Other - Provide regular business reports to the Store Manager. Establish relationships with internal resources such as HR, Safety and Environmental, Finance, and Corporate Administration. 9. This position will manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of hourly Sales/Customer Service employees. 10. Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill. 11. Acts in a sales capacity 50%+ of the time, less than 50% of the job is classified as managerial. 12. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 1. Strong Interpersonal/Leadership skills 2. APG (Pick N Pull) is a 7 days a week retail operation and the sales manager is expected to appropriately cover business shifts as needed or directed by manager. 8. The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 9. High School Diploma or GED and/or one year certificate from college or technical school; minimum of 1-2 years experience in the automotive industry participating in all phases of the operation; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 10. Minimum of 1-2 years Supervisory/Leadership experience 11. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions: 1. Standing, walking, bending, and stretching are required regularly to perform customer care, production, and environmental/safety responsibility functions. 2. Manual dexterity to handle tools and the ability to move 50 pounds are regularly required to perform routine functions. 3. Manual dexterity to maintain the facility clean by mopping, sweeping, etc. as required. 4. Vision must be sufficient to perform job functions safely as described above. 5. Able to work on feet (stand and walk) for assigned work shift. Supervisory Responsibility: This position will manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal and work assignments of non-exempt hourly employees. Job Conditions: 1. Exposure on a regular basis to outdoor weather conditions. 2. Periodic exposure to minimal chemical hazards.
