They form the foundation of our SUPERVALU Advantage - the key to our continuing success.   Title: Tax Accounting Intern - Boise PURPOSE   Prepares, reviews, and analyzes accounting and financial information to provide accurate and useful information to management.   JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES   ·         Assist in the preparation of projects and work papers for the federal, state and local tax returns and related reports to ensure Company compliance with tax laws and regulations ·         Assist in the research of tax legislation and court decisions to determine effect on the Company ·         Assist in the preparation and compliance with all state annual reports ·         Assist in the preparation of accounting entries for the Company’s fiscal and period closings ·         Assist with the preparation and calculation of deferred tax liabilities to comply with quarterly financial reporting obligations ·         Complete special related accounting and tax projects as assigned by Senior Tax Accountant or Tax Accounting Supervisor ·         Prepare period and quarterly journal entries timely and accurately ·         Reconcile assigned accounts   JOB REQUIREMENTS   Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   ·         Completion of at least sophomore year of college with an Accounting major ·         No or minimum previous accounting/tax experience (0-1) required ·         Experience with Parent Company desirable ·         Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written ·         Possess ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results ·         General knowledge of computer capabilities ·         Prior experience with personal computer spreadsheet, database, and document preparation applications desirable ·         Intermediate level Excel skills   The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of the work performed by the employees assigned to this job.
