Providence Health & Services-Alaska is seeking a skilled Billing/Accounts Receivable Supervisor for our Medical Center in Kodiak Island Alaska. Under supervision this position is responsible for the management and coordination of all activities in Patient Financial Services including the functional areas of patient billing, financial counseling, customer service, accounts receivables, insurance follow-up, collections, cash management, admissions, patient registration, census coordination and compliance. In this leadership role, you will provide the daily management of Patient Financial Services. This includes responsibility for the billing and collection procedures and ensures all accounts receivable records are maintained according to established procedures and regulatory requirements. Additional roles and responsibilities include the following: 1. Manages and coordinates requirements for the compliance of the various government billing and registration requirements. Actively participates in the preparation of the various government reporting requirements. 2. Responsible for maintaining productivity standards. Develops and oversees reporting systems that monitor workflow, detects errors and identifies problems. Monitors the health of Accounts Receivable and reports to PKIMC Administration and Regional Patient Financial Services. Analyzes the information to formulate active process improvement initiative. 3. Prepares and administers the departmental budget and actively supports and works with Providence Health System staff in developing billing, charging, admitting and registration protocols. Build a collaborative relationship with other health care organizations, insurance companies, and government agencies. The essential requirements for this position include the following: Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Bachelor?s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred. Experience: Three years of progressive responsibility in the billing and collections in a Healthcare Environment including supervisory experience preferred. Other Qualifications: Competent in Microsoft product with advanced skills in Excel. Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to work overtime as required. Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health.
