Experience in public accounting, operations, financial analysis, information systems and health care or insurance desirable. Position Responsibilities: Monitor business processes and systems to assure integrity in information and systems. Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial reports. Review, communicate, and present strategic plans, operating budgets and forecasts. . Set targets and measures that are appropriate for the site and are directly linked to business unit and corporate objectives. Evaluate program effectiveness and ensure reporting accuracy. Provide financial plan for performance variances, operating alternatives, program and investment initiatives, etc. Interpret financial reports for management team. Serve as contact for the State, corporate and business unit functions regarding financial matters. Provide multi-directional communications. Actively monitor legislative and political developments affecting the business unit from a financial perspective. Coordinate political contribution activity, interact with lobbyists, attend political fundraisers, and ensure compliance with political contribution statutes. Description:
Responsible for all aspects of the accounting, warehouse, cage and revenue audit processes which include: supervising staff, ensuring compliance with controls, reviewing all financial statements, and ensuring accuracy of financial records. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Oversees processing of, and review of: tax returns, bank reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable records, payroll records, revenue audit records, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and corporate policy, as applicable. Responsible for generating daily operating reports and timely submission to management and corporate office. Responsible for updating control narratives and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley baseline controls as determined by Corporate. Responsible for approving weekly FINCEN Form 103 and ensuring compliance with IRS Title 31 requirements. Responsible for timely and accurate issuance of internal financial statements. May authorize accounts payable and payroll documents for payment. Acts as authorized company signer on checks. Coordinating and monitoring warehouse and purchasing functions, including compliance with internal control. Coordinating and monitoring cage and count team functions, including compliance with internal controls and Miss. Gaming Regulations. Coordinates accounting staff in preparation for year-end financial statement audit as well as other audits where applicable. May serve as Acting Chief Financial Officer in CFO's absence. May act as company representative in dealing with external auditors, State and other regulatory agencies. Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the Accounting, Payroll/Accounts Payable and Revenue Audit Departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises certain non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Performs duties of subordinate personnel as required. Other duties may be assigned. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university required. MBA preffered; CPA required. Experience with warehouse and purchasing functions required. Experience with Cage and Sarbanes Oxley functions preferred. Must be able to obtain MS Gaming Work Permit
