Accounting Clerk Account Clerk, The City of Bangor, Treasury Division is seeking to fill the Position of Part-time, Account Clerk. This position will be scheduled 10am to 3pm for a total of 25 hours per week. Some additional hours may be available. Duties include answering telephones, greeting office visitors, receiving mail and counter payments for various items including property and excise tax, sewer and water payments. Additional functions include processing registrations for automobiles, ATVs, snowmobiles and boats as well as assessing values on these items. Other related duties will be performed as assigned. The ideal candidate should have working knowledge of the principles and standard practices of bookkeeping, cash handling, state statutes pertaining to taxes, liens and interest, along with thorough knowledge of modern office equipment. Working knowledge of State of Maine vehicle registration procedures is preferred. The ability to deal courteously, effectively and tactfully with co-workers and the public is essential.
