Municipal Elections (Until 1/1/2011) B. Maintaining and Collecting fees for the Clerks Office C. Preparation of Ordinance & Resolution documents as directed by City Council D. Publish all required notifications in local newspaper as required by statute E. Management of all City documents F. Providing information as requested to the public G. Management responsibility for City Deputy Clerk position H. Attending all City Council Meetings and Producing the minutes I. Preparing Council Meeting packets prior to meetings J. Other tasks as requested by Mayor or City Council Minimum job requirements include: a minimum of five years experience working in an accounting capacity in a municipal government environment, knowledge of principles and practices of public administration, knowledge of governmental accounting standards, extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software, ability to type a minimum of 60 wpm, ability to read and interpret state statutes and city ordinances, a valid drivers license, and strong organizational skills as well as personal initiative. Desired Qualifications: Previous appointment as a City Clerk or Treasurer in any City, an accounting or finance degree, experience with Caselle accounting software, certification as a municipal clerk, supervisory experience, and excellent writing skills. The pay range for this position is $40,000 to $50,000 annually depending on qualifications. This position offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and state retirement.
