The Sr. Accountant maintains a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with GAAP. RESPONSIBILITIES:
1-Maintains a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with GAAP;
2-Prepares various accounting statements and reports;

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, you will perform a variety of accounting/finance and related duties. You will also be involved in the month-end close, with specific responsibilities, such as journal entry postings, accruals and general ledger/sub ledger account reconciliations. Your duties will also include performing Cash Management/Treasury, AR applications and processes, administration and reporting of Sales/Use Tax, assisting and preparation of financial audits, and assisting with special projects and ad hoc reporting.

Essential functions:

  • Prepare general ledger and month-end accruals and journal entries, debit memos, posting of cash receipts, GL account reconciliations, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Cash management and bank account reconciliations, including forecasting and analyzing cash flow, coordination of foreign currency purchases, and initiation of foreign/domestic wire transfers using Internet based banking.
  • Filing of sales and use tax returns accurately and timely, updating and maintaining tax codes in BPCS, registering and filing sales tax returns for multiple states, and preparing and supporting all requests from Sales and Use Tax audit.
  • Reconciling RGA balances, coordinating with Technical Support Department, as well as other departments, to ensure proper recording/process of RGA claims.
  • Administration of sales commission program, including calculating monthly accrual and reconciling commission balances, preparing commission payments, resolving and communicating with commissionaires on any discrepancies.
  • Assisting with preparation of external financial review, annual/semi-audits and income tax returns.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance and two years experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software BPCS and JD Edwards.
  • Ability to identify issues, research, analyze, and find solutions.
  • Knowledge of GAAP.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and intermediate working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
